Jan Høst Schmidt

Jan has been the European Commission's representative in Denmark for six years. He was Director-General in the European Commission from 1995-2008 with responsibility for economic reforms in the Member States and economic assessment of the Commission's proposal and before that worked as Deputy Chief of Staff to Henning Christophersen with responsibility for areas such as economic and Monetary Union. He has worked in the Danish Ministry of Finance and has a Master's Degree in Political Science from Aarhus University.
