Svend focuses on global trade policy and industrial policy as well as the geopolitical consequences of these policies.

Svend has a master's degree in Political Science from University of Aarhus and an HD in Foreign Trade from Copenhagen Business School, CBS.

For a number of years, Svend was employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has had a number of areas of responsibility in both the outdoor and home services, including a number of Ambassador positions as well as responsibility for the trade policy area in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Svend Roed Nielsen has co-authored two books, “Brazil - a new great power” and “On a mission in Denmark”.
